If your homepage loads but all other pages show a 404 error, refresh your permalinks:
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Settings → Permalinks.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes. Do not change any settings.
- Open your site and check a few inner pages. They should load normally.
This regenerates the rewrite rules (the .htaccess file), which usually fixes the problem right away.
